Signature size for online application forms
Common signature sizes: PAN (Protean) 354 × 157 px under 50 KB; IBPS/SBI 140 × 60 px, 10–20 KB; NEET 10–30 KB; UPSC 20–200 KB, 350–1000 px; OCI 3:1 ratio. Sign in black ink on white paper and crop tight before resizing.
Almost every form that asks for a photo also asks for your signature. Signatures are where most upload errors happen: wrong shape, too small a file, or a grey shadowy background.

Open converterHow to capture a clean signature
- Sign in the middle of a plain white A4 sheet with a black ball-point or gel pen. Sign at your normal size.
- Photograph it in daylight, holding the phone directly above the paper so the signature isn't slanted.
- In the converter, pick your signature preset, then use Crop to cut tight around the signature.
- Raise Contrast (about 150–180%) and Brightness a little until the paper is pure white and the ink is dark.
- Download and check the file: the signature should fill most of the box and be easy to read.

Common signature mistakes
- Lots of empty paper around the signature — the signature becomes tiny after resizing. Crop tight.
- Grey background — shadows from your phone. Increase brightness and contrast.
- Signature on lined or coloured paper — use plain white.
- Different from your usual signature — it may be compared with your signature at the exam or bank.
Frequently asked questions
Should my signature be in black or blue ink?
Black is safest — it scans with the most contrast. Most forms accept either.
How do I reduce my signature file to under 20 KB?
Pick a signature preset — it compresses to fit the limit automatically. If a form has a minimum size, the converter also makes sure the file isn't too small.
Limits on government portals change between application cycles. If the form shows a different size, use those numbers — the converter's Create custom preset lets you enter any size.
